Do my forms get uploaded to a cloud server?

No. The tool runs entirely on your local computer. Your files are processed through an encrypted connection and are never stored anywhere.

What exactly does 4473 Pro check on each form?

Every field on Sections A through E — firearm descriptions, buyer eligibility questions, NICS fields, ID verification, seller certification, transfer dates, and Form 3310.4 requirements.

Does this replace my employees reviewing the form?

No. 4473 Pro is a second set of eyes. Your employees should still review each form — this is a safety net, not a substitute for proper FFL training.

What do I need to run it?

A Windows computer and a free processing account (~$3–6/month for typical volume). The installer handles everything else automatically — no technical setup required. Mac support is coming soon.

Can I use it on multiple computers?

What form version does it support?

ATF Form 4473 (5300.9) Revised August 2023 — the current version. We update audit rules whenever ATF revises the form.

Does it work with handwritten forms?

Yes. Scan your handwritten 4473 and drop the file into the tool — it will read and audit it just like a typed form. Neat, legible handwriting on a clean scan works very well. For best results, scan at 300 DPI or higher in good lighting.

What file types does it accept?

4473 Pro accepts PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF files — so whatever format your scanner produces, the tool can handle it. You can also drop a ZIP file containing multiple forms of any supported type to audit them all at once.

How fast does it process forms?

Each form takes roughly 30–60 seconds to audit. The tool processes files one at a time with a short pause between each. Most dealers doing fewer than 20 forms a day will never notice any slowdown. High-volume dealers (50+ forms/day) may need to request a free processing limit increase through your account settings — our setup guide walks you through exactly how to do this before you ever hit a limitation.
